Tiers and billing periods

Make one product per membership and give it a price per month (30 days) or per year (365 days). Monthly and yearly are two prices on the same product, so a member can choose either. The member approves a cap for each period: the price, plus the flat network fee each renewal carries, 0.01 USDC today.

Access follows payment

Fianto does not host your content or run your community, and it has no Discord or Telegram bot. Your site or bot grants access from the events it receives. Send the member ID in customer_reference when you open the checkout session, and it returns on every event for that membership.

• subscription.created: add the member.
• subscription.past_due: the renewal failed once. You decide whether the member keeps access while Fianto retries after an hour, six hours and a day.
• subscription.cancel_scheduled: a cancellation is scheduled, by the member or by you (cancel_reason says which). It takes effect when the paid period ends.
• subscription.ended: remove the member. end_reason says why: they cancelled, you cancelled, or payment failed.

Opening the checkout

From your site, create a checkout session with mode: "subscription", the price_id of the monthly or yearly price, your membership record as order_id, a success_url back to the member area and a cancel_url. If you pass customer_email, you see it with the member; Fianto does not write to it.

To end someone's membership yourself, cancel the subscription with the API, now or at the end of the paid period. The event that follows says MERCHANT_CANCELED, so your site can tell it apart from a member who left.

What members do themselves

Members sign in at fianto.xyz/my with a message from their wallet, not a transaction. There they see every Fianto subscription their wallet pays, across merchants, and cancel with one signature. A cancelled membership runs to the end of the paid period. After it ends, the portal offers to return the Solana account rent the subscription held, unless you ended the plan. Fianto sends members no email, so tell them about renewals yourself if your audience expects it.

One-off sales beside the membership

A back issue, a report or an event ticket is a one-off checkout session (mode: "payment"). You get order.paid with your order ID when it settles, and the customer pays only the network fee of their own transaction.
