How to cancel a crypto subscription without breaking your others.

To cancel a USDC subscription paid through Fianto, sign in at fianto.xyz/my with the paying wallet, press Cancel subscription on its card and approve one transaction. Nothing more is charged, and the subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. Removing the token approval in your wallet does not cancel it: the next renewal fails, the subscription goes past due, and every other subscription sharing that approval breaks too.

TL;DR
  • Cancel in the portal at fianto.xyz/my: one signature, a network fee of about 5,100 lamports in SOL, access until the paid period ends.
  • Revoking the approval is not a cancel. It fails the next renewal of every USDC subscription that wallet pays through the Solana Subscriptions program, in any shop.
  • After the subscription has ended, reclaim the SOL rent its account holds from the same portal.

How do you cancel a crypto subscription paid with Fianto?

You cancel a Fianto subscription yourself in the customer portal, with the wallet that pays it. No email to the shop is needed and no one has to approve it. The steps:

  1. Open fianto.xyz/my and connect the wallet that pays the subscription. It asks you to sign a message, which costs nothing and moves nothing.
  2. Find the subscription. The list shows every Fianto subscription that wallet pays, across every shop; filter by merchant or product if the list is long.
  3. Press Cancel subscription on its card. A dialog asks "Cancel <product> at <shop>?" and lists what you give up and until when you keep access. If the shop asks why you are leaving, the reasons are optional.
  4. Press Cancel subscription again to go on. The other button, Keep with the product's name, closes the dialog.
  5. Read the review. It says Fianto stops starting new payments, the subscription stays active until the end of its current billing period, and your wallet pays a small network fee in SOL.
  6. Press Approve in wallet within 30 seconds and approve the transaction. Keep the page open; confirmation usually takes under a minute.

When it lands, the portal says "Your cancellation is confirmed on Solana." The card then shows an Ends pill with the date. After that date, once Fianto has recorded the end, it shows Ended, with "You cancelled it."

A subscription card in the customer portal: the shop and plan, the amount per month, the next charge, the start date, the paying wallet, and the Cancel subscription button with its one-line explanation.

What happens after you cancel?

A cancelled Fianto subscription keeps running until the end of the period you paid for, then stops for good. Solana sets that end date when your cancel is confirmed, and the portal shows it. A payment already under way at that moment may still complete; nothing new is started.

  • If the subscription was past due, cancelling also stops the retries: "Fianto also stops trying to take the missed payment."
  • The cost is the Solana network fee of one transaction. Fianto builds the cancel with one signature and a 100,000 compute-unit budget at 1,000 micro-lamports per unit, which comes to 5,100 lamports, or 0.0000051 SOL, unless your wallet adds a priority fee of its own. A lamport is one billionth of a SOL.
  • There is no undo in the portal. The dialog says it plainly: "Fianto cannot undo it for you." To come back, subscribe again at whatever price the shop offers then.
  • The merchant can see it. The subscription shows as ending in its dashboard, and a merchant that listens for webhooks receives a subscription.cancel_scheduled event, then subscription.ended when the period runs out.

Refunds for the unused part of a period are the shop's decision, not Fianto's. The money went straight to the merchant's wallet, so only the merchant can send USDC back; chargebacks vs crypto refunds explains why there is no card-style dispute.

Why revoking the token approval is not cancelling

Revoking the approval in your wallet does not cancel a Fianto subscription; it only makes the next renewal fail. When you subscribed, your wallet set the Solana Subscriptions program's authority as the delegate of your USDC account, an approved address allowed to move USDC within the rules of each subscription. Solana's documentation describes what a revoke does: it "clears the token account's current delegate and resets the delegated amount to zero".

That delegate is one per wallet and token. The program's README puts it this way: for each (user, mint) pair, "the program creates a Subscription Authority (SA) PDA and sets it as the single delegate on the user's token account". So every USDC subscription your wallet holds through the program, at Fianto or elsewhere, uses the same approval. Revoke it and all of them fail at their next renewal. The README is also direct about the record itself: "Revoking only the ATA delegate does not make a subscription terminal."

What follows on Fianto after a revoke:

  1. The next renewal fails with the reason DELEGATION_REVOKED, which counts against the subscription.
  2. The subscription turns Past due, and Fianto tries again 1 hour, 6 hours and 24 hours after the period ended.
  3. The portal offers Renew approval, in case you revoked by accident.
  4. After the fourth counted failure it ends, with "It ended because Fianto could not take a payment from this wallet after several tries."

Meanwhile the shop sees a past-due customer, not a cancelled one, and may limit access during the retries. A clean cancel ends it on the date you expect and leaves your other subscriptions alone. How the shared authority caps each subscription is covered in Solana token delegation explained, and what a past-due subscription looks like from your side is in why your USDC subscription didn't renew.

Which ways of stopping a subscription actually cancel it?

Only a cancel of the subscription itself, by you or by the shop, ends it at the period boundary without a failed payment. The four ways compared:

What you doDoes it cancel? When it stopsOther subscriptions on the wallet
Cancel subscription in the portalYes, on Solana, with your signatureEnd of the paid periodUntouched
Cancel from another wallet app that can cancel Solana subscriptionsYes; Fianto picks it up within about 5 minutesEnd of the paid periodUntouched
Ask the shop to cancelYes, in Fianto's recordsNow or at period end, as the shop choosesUntouched
Revoke the approval in your walletNoAfter the fourth failed try, about a day after the period endsEvery USDC subscription using the program fails its next renewal

A shop's cancel changes Fianto's records but leaves your subscription account open on Solana. That only matters if you later want the same plan again from the same wallet, or the account's rent back: the portal then offers Cancel on Solana once the subscription shows Ended.

Can you get SOL back after cancelling?

Yes: the SOL rent held by the subscription's own account on Solana comes back to your wallet once the subscription has ended, but only when you reclaim it. Rent is the minimum balance Solana makes every account hold for its stored data. Your wallet paid it when you subscribed, and it stays in that account until someone closes it.

When your cancel has run its course, the card says from which date the rent can be reclaimed, and a reclaim button appears with the line "Close it to get that rent back." under it. One more signature closes the account and returns the rent, less a network fee of the same 5,100 lamports. An account opened on 15 October 2026 holds 1,437,640 lamports, about 0.00144 SOL; rent is falling, and the portal shows the exact amount your account holds. The one-time wallet setup rent from your wallet's first subscription is never returned, because every subscription on that wallet relies on it. Amounts and edge cases are in account rent and reclaim.

How do you cancel a crypto subscription that is not on Fianto?

First work out who moves the money each period; the post on whether crypto auto-renews shows how to tell. If you send a payment yourself every month, from an invoice or a payment request, there is nothing to cancel on chain: stop paying and tell the merchant. If the merchant pulls each payment from your wallet under an approval, use the merchant's own cancel, or a wallet app that cancels that specific subscription. Revoking the approval should be the last resort, kept for a merchant you no longer trust, because with the Solana Subscriptions program it hits every subscription that shares it.

If you are not sure a subscription is on Fianto, sign in to the portal with the wallet: it lists every Fianto subscription that wallet pays, and says "This wallet does not pay any subscription on Fianto." when there are none. The cancel page in the payer docs explains the messages the cancel flow can show, and stablecoin auto-renewal explains what the approval you gave at checkout allows.

Questions

Questions about cancelling a crypto subscription.

Can I cancel a USDC subscription before the period ends and keep access?

Yes. A cancel in the portal stops future payments, and the subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.

Does cancelling refund the rest of the month?

No. Fianto never holds the money, so any refund is sent by the shop from its own wallet. Ask the shop.

Can I undo a cancel?

Not in the portal. Once the cancel is confirmed, subscribe again from the shop at the price it offers then.

Do I need SOL to cancel?

Yes, a little. The cancel is a Solana transaction your wallet signs, and its network fee is about 5,100 lamports, or 0.0000051 SOL.

Will revoking token approvals stop a crypto subscription?

It stops the payments, but not cleanly. The subscription goes past due, is retried for about a day and then ends, and every other USDC subscription sharing that approval fails too.

Why didn't my USDC subscription renew? A payer's checklist

A USDC renewal on Fianto counts as failed for one of four reasons, all on the wallet side: not enough USDC for the whole charge, a removed approval, a frozen USDC account or a closed one. The subscription turns Past due, Fianto tries again one hour, six hours and 24 hours after the period ended, and if the fourth counted try fails it ends. Sign in at fianto.xyz/my with the paying wallet: the portal names the reason and the next try.

Paying a subscription with crypto: what changes for the customer

Paying a subscription with crypto replaces the card on file with one signature in your own wallet: you approve a fixed maximum per period, and each renewal is then pulled from your USDC balance with nothing for you to do. Three things change against a card. You cancel in a portal instead of calling your bank, a refund comes from the merchant because there are no chargebacks, and you pay a few small Solana costs, part of which you get back when the subscription ends.

Does crypto auto-renew? Which services renew on their own and which send a link

Usually not. A subscription paid in crypto ends when the paid period runs out unless you pay again, because a wallet has no card number the merchant can charge. It renews on its own only when you signed an approval with a limit per period at checkout, as Helius autopay and Fianto plans on Solana ask for, and then it keeps renewing until you cancel it or a renewal cannot be paid.

One signature, and it ends on time.

Open fianto.xyz/my with the paying wallet and press Cancel subscription.
